The Hicksville Historical Society—a major force in preserving local history and lore—is in the process of reorganizing, and your help is needed. The Board of Directors is striving to rebuild the organization and maintain the properties and memorabilia that we have been given.
Here is an overview of the tasks to be done: Register the Land Office as an historic site; establish a viable website for public access to information; streamline accumulated items as appropriate; move ownership of St. Paul's Episcopal Church from the Diocese to the Society and conduct needed repairs to maintain the integrity of the structure; archive documents and photos for long-term protection; conduct open-house hours at both buildings.
Can you help with any of these volunteer opportunities?
If so, please contact us. (Email us at hicksvillehistoricalsociety@gmail.com or call/text 419-487-3096 or 419-769-0108. ) We’ll put you to work! And thanks for your interest.
